What BPC-157 is
BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound 157) is a synthetic pentadecapeptide: a 15-amino-acid sequence derived from a protein found in human gastric juice. It was first described by a research group in Zagreb in the 1990s and has since appeared in several hundred preclinical papers, almost all from that group and its collaborators. It is supplied for research as a lyophilised white powder in 10 mg vials and reconstituted with bacteriostatic water. Unlike the lipidated metabolic peptides, it carries no fatty-acid side chain, so its behaviour in solution and its stability profile are different.
How it is studied
BPC-157 appears mainly in preclinical tissue-repair models: tendon, ligament, muscle, gastrointestinal and vascular tissue in cell culture and animal studies. It is also studied in angiogenesis and nitric-oxide-pathway models. Because so much of the literature comes from a single research lineage, laboratories increasingly use BPC-157 in replication work, which is a legitimate and under-served research niche. The published record
Extensive preclinical literature; very limited human data; no approved medicine anywhere. The concentration of the literature in one research group is the most important thing for a researcher to know: it makes independent replication valuable and it means reference methods are less standardised than for a compound like tirzepatide. Analytical characterisation (HPLC purity, mass confirmation) is straightforward, and that is what the certificate should show.

Handling and storage
Lyophilised vials: cool, dry and dark; freeze at -20°C beyond three months. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water and refrigerate at 2 to 8°C. BPC-157 is water-soluble and reconstitutes readily; as a non-lipidated peptide it is generally regarded as less stable in solution over long periods than the metabolic peptides, so laboratories tend to reconstitute smaller volumes more often rather than holding one large solution for weeks.
