Tirzepatide vs Retatrutide vs Cagrilintide: All Three Compared

Three compounds account for most of the metabolic research peptide demand in the Philippines: tirzepatide, retatrutide and cagrilintide. They are often grouped as "GLP-1 peptides", which is only partly accurate. Two of them are incretin-based and one is not GLP-1-related at all. This page is the master comparison: one table, then the practical questions a laboratory asks before choosing. The pairwise pages go deeper on each match-up. For laboratory and research use only.

Is "GLP-1 peptide" the right label?

Only loosely. Tirzepatide and retatrutide both act at the GLP-1 receptor, but both are built on the GIP sequence and act at the GIP receptor too, and retatrutide adds glucagon. Cagrilintide does not act on the GLP-1 receptor at all; it is an amylin analogue that is grouped with the others because the literature studies it alongside them. If a search query or a supplier listing says "GLP-1 peptides", read it as "metabolic research peptides" and check which receptors each compound actually targets.

Three questions that decide the choice

1. Which pathway is the study about?

Incretin only: tirzepatide. Incretin plus glucagon: retatrutide. Amylin: cagrilintide. Combination of incretin and amylin: tirzepatide or retatrutide plus cagrilintide.

2. How much published reference data does the study need?

Tirzepatide has by far the deepest literature, including stability, analytical and pharmacokinetic data. Retatrutide is next. Cagrilintide's stand-alone literature is the thinnest, with most papers being combination studies.

3. What is the budget per milligram?

Tirzepatide is the least expensive per milligram, cagrilintide the most. Kits reduce every compound's per-vial price and ship free above ₱10,000. A matched pair for a combination model (for example a tirzepatide Kit and a cagrilintide Kit) is the most common bulk order we see.

Handling is identical

All three are lyophilised, lipidated peptides. Store powders cool, dry and away from light; freeze at -20°C beyond three months. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water, refrigerate at 2 to 8°C afterwards and avoid freeze-thaw cycles. The reconstitution guide and concentration reference cover all three.

Verify before you order, from anyone

Because these three compounds are in demand, they are also the most frequently mislabeled products in the Philippine market. Open the certificate of analysis on the testing platform, confirm the compound name and purity, and check vial content in milligrams before comparing prices. Our lab testing page shows what we publish; the six-point checklist applies to any supplier.
