What is Mazdutide?
Mazdutide (IBI362, LY3305677) is a synthetic peptide analogue of oxyntomodulin engineered as a dual agonist of the GLP-1 and glucagon receptors, with a fatty-acid side chain for extended half-life. It was developed by Eli Lilly and licensed to Innovent for development in China, where it has completed phase 3 trials. In receptor-pharmacology terms it sits between semaglutide (GLP-1 only) and retatrutide (GLP-1, GIP and glucagon), which is why the three are often run side by side.
How it is used in research
Mazdutide appears in dual-agonist receptor pharmacology, glucagon-receptor contribution studies, energy-expenditure and hepatic-lipid models, and head-to-head comparisons with single and triple agonists. It is not an approved medicine in the Philippines. It is usually ordered alongside retatrutide and semaglutide for comparative designs.

Storage and handling

Frequently asked questions
Mazdutide or retatrutide?
Mazdutide is a dual GLP-1/glucagon agonist; retatrutide adds GIP-receptor activity. A study isolating the glucagon-receptor contribution without GIP would use mazdutide; a triple-agonist design would use retatrutide.
